Broward County Schools now have a new library system. It is web based and you can access the online catalog from ANY computer with internet access. You can do this from home, the media center or your classroom. The web address is listed below - activate the link then bookmark it for future use. From home, destiny.browardschools.com then click on the link for our school. Type your search term in the "Find" box and then click the circle "GO". You can search for topics, titles, or authors. Your results pages shows at a glance: (sometimes, a picture of the book cover), the title, author, call number, media type (books, dvd, etc), and availability ( "IN" means available) (see it showing 1 - 10 of 170 items found) You can hover the mouse over one of the books for more information.....or click on the book for a pop-up window for even more detailed info. You can narrow your search results, using the orange rectangle on the left. Narrow by Accelerated Reader Hover on the Accelerated Reader link, adjust the sliders on the reading level bar to the desired reading level range then click apply for your new results. The “breadcrumb trail” now shows a search for cats, then a search narrow for AR 3.0 to 4.5. Further narrow the results by adjusting the point range for AR and click apply. Final result, 3 books on AR reading level 3.0 to a 4.5 with a point range of 2.0 to 9.0. |
